Plan Management
Billing works per application, so you only pay for the applications that need a paid plan.
Subscription of an application
Open an application from Applications, select Edit, and look at the Subscription card.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
CURRENT | The plan this application is on. |
STATUS | active: the subscription renews at the end of the billing cycle. canceled: the plan stays usable until the cycle ends, then falls back to FREE. |
PLAN | The plans you can switch to. Enterprise is arranged with us directly. |
Upgrading
You can upgrade at any time. The change takes effect immediately, and at the latest within 5 minutes.
The transaction quota resets completely on upgrade. For example, upgrading on the 15th gives you the new plan's full quota straight away, and it resets again on the 1st of the following month.
Reasons to upgrade:
- reset the free transaction quota of an application
- handle a spike in validations
- keep transaction and user data for longer
- use features that paid plans include
The first application you upgrade asks for payment details. Any further upgrade only increases the quantity on the existing subscription, with nothing more to enter.
Usage billing
A paid application still comes with a monthly transaction quota included. Transactions above that quota are billed by usage. See Pricing for the rate, where Enterprise customers may arrange custom rates.
Usage is counted in steps of 100 transactions. The cost is then added to the next billing cycle, which gives you time to receive the matching payout from the store before we bill you for it.
Two paid applications on STANDARD, neither above its quota:
| Cycle | Charged | Made up of |
|---|---|---|
| This one | $10.00 | 2 × $5.00 subscription |
Two paid applications on STANDARD, one of them 110 transactions above its quota:
| Cycle | Charged | Made up of |
|---|---|---|
| This one | $10.00 | 2 × $5.00 subscription |
| Next one | $11.50 | 2 × $5.00 subscription + $1.50 usage ($0.75 per 100) |
Cancelling
You can cancel an application's subscription yourself on that application's Subscription card. Cancel at least 6 hours before the end of the month (UTC) to avoid one more billing cycle.
A cancelled subscription stays active until the cycle ends and then falls back to FREE.
When the plan falls back to FREE, the application loses the paid features immediately. If those features were storing purchase data for your users, that data is no longer kept.
Plan the switch before you cancel. Give existing users a few months on the paid plan so they can restore their purchases, or move their inventory into your own storage first.

Refunds
Refunds are handled case by case, for example after a major outage or a critical bug. They can be full or partial, or issued as credit against a future cycle.
